Welcome to the home page of Ship 956 - Clearwater, Florida.

We're a sailing club for coed teens, ages 14-21. Ship 956 is part of the B.S.A. Sea Scouting/Venturing program, and has been active in the West Central Florida Council in theTampa Bay area for over ten years. Supervised by qualified adults, members receive training, run the program and decide on activities for the coming year.

Knowing how to sail is not a requirement; learning is part of the club, and we have experienced people to teach you. We're always looking for new, adventurous members to go sailing, camping, racing with local fleets and of course, our annual week-long cruise to the Bahamas, the Keys or whatever new ports we decide to explore.

We have a small fleet of boats that we own and maintain including a 23' Compac, three Sunfish, and a 25' Ericson, as well as access to members' boats. We charter larger sailboats for annual cruises.
