The passage to the Abacos,
June 26th to July 4th, 1999.

Nearly 500 miles under sail and power.

We chartered two 50' Beneteaus, the "Zephyrus"
and "Sea Lyon" out of Ft. Lauderdale, with ten youth
and nine adults.

The weather was mostly overcast, with a tropical
wave in the area producing some squalls —
although we did have some fine days for
snorkeling and windsurfing.

Amy & Karla take us out of Freeport on
"Zephyrus",
with "Sea Lyon" following.

Sarah, Amy & Claire grab
some "real food" at the
fuel docks in Ft. Lauderdale
on the way back.

Chris, Mike and Roy out in the
dinghy at the Abacos National
Underwater park.
Roy's up in the bosun's chair |
somewhere — probably mooning the
crew on "Zephyrus".

Matt, Roy, Jeff and Mike
at the Lauderdale fuel docks.

Matt again, with the magnificent
elkhorn coral forests of the
Abacos National Park.

That's "Sea Lyon" working "Zephyrus"
hard during "The Great Beneteau Race"
from Marsh Harbour to Tilloo Cay
and the
National Park.
